  • Free isiXhosa communication skills: Beginners and Intermediate Masithethe isiXhosa Course for UCT staff and students

    11 July 2025 - 31 October 2025

    Register for the Beginners and Intermediate Masithethe isiXhosa Course for staff and students offered by the Multilingualism Education Project (MEP) based in the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHED).

    The course will take place from August to October 2025. It is 12 sessions online or face to face course offered during 13:00-14:00 time or 16:00-17:00. The course covers basic conversation eg personal introductions, making friendships, interacting with the community, giving information and making simple requests. The course will also provide you with basic knowledge of the African culture, isiXhosa culture in particular.

    A university certificate of completion or attendance of the course will be awarded at the end of the course.

    If you are interested in the course, please reply to Zukiswa Zono or Nolubabalo Tyam for further details or register online before 6 August 2025.

    Limited ICT services will be available for the duration of the maintenance slot from 08:00–17:00, unless advised to the contrary. Please note that this slot starts an hour earlier than previously announced.
