Students must log into the PeopleSoft student portal from the dates noted above to receive the registration link. Academic advisors will respond to queries submitted via an advisor tab within the registration system.

For international students, pre-registration clearance (i.e., visa, medical aid, and fee checks) must be completed remotely, before academic registration.

All students must be registered by the deadline of 13 February 2026. Students who register late may face a late registration penalty.

Note 1

  • Students MUST conclude their registration during the window allocated for your programme. All returners to ‘Taught Programmes’ must register by 13 February 2026.
  • International and SADC students: pre-registration clearance (i.e., visa, medical aid, and fee checks) will be completed remotely, before academic registration.
  • Outstanding fees: Students with fee debts cannot be registered, and they should liaise with the Fees Office regarding clearance of debt prior to registration. The Fees Office can be contacted at fnd-feeenq@uct.ac.za.
  • Late registration: A late registration fee will automatically be charged to your fee account if you register after the dates specified in the table above.
  • MOU/PPA process: The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) (for new students) and Progress and Planned Activity Report (returning students) provide the opportunity for the students and supervisors to structure their relationship, agree on an annual work plan, and expectations of academic progress. These documents are also completed via an online smart PDF and must be concluded by both the student and supervisor to commence academic registration.
  • Please contact the postgraduate admin office with any queries. All first-time registrars are required to complete the abridged MOU.
