Please contact the relevant faculty for all queries regarding registration.
Note: Times and dates are subject to change

All students registered to undergraduate Humanities programmes* require two levels of curriculum review in order to finalise their registration: the first level is in-person advice per the below schedule, and the second level is incorporated into (Steps 12-14 of) the registration task on PeopleSoft. Importantly, students will not be able to proceed past Step 11 of their registration task on PeopleSoft without completing the first level of curriculum review.

Returning students who sought early registration advice must bring their signed curriculum planner to their in-person registration session, but only to gain access to Step 12 of their registration tasks on PeopleSoft (if all 2024 courses passed).

*The only exception to this are Semester Study Abroad students and Occasional Studies students, who are not required to attend in-person advice, and may register via PeopleSoft directly.

Students must either finalise their registration task or request approval on Step 12 of the registration task by: Friday, 14 February 2025 at the latest.

Registration Information for Students

Please note that registration is an official activity in the academic calendar and students requiring advice are obliged to attend in their designated slot. The registration task should be submitted on the same day to avoid backlogs.
Students attempting to obtain advice outside their scheduled timeslot without permission will not be accommodated.
A late registration fee of R2000 will automatically be charged to the account of any student who registers late. Waiver of the fee will be considered by the Dean only in the most exceptional of circumstances which must be fully motivated in writing.
All new International and SADC students must get fee clearance, and present their study permits and health insurance details to IAPO  before they are scheduled to register.
Hardcopies of the handbooks will not be available at the registration session venues. Instead, you may consult the soft copies available online: UCT Handbooks
