UCT Press has a long history of scholarly monograph publishing. We are excited to be an open access press that will continue our investment in sharing high-quality, original, peer-reviewed research on pressing issues. Open access contributes to social justice by making scholarship more equitable and widely available. Print and digital formats are available and open-access delivery is supported.
Publications focus mainly on the humanities with an African perspective, and UCT Press aims to be the preferred university press for academic authors on the African continent.
Titles for publication under the UCT Press imprint are approved by the UCT Press editorial board, which is made up of UCT faculty members.
The UCT Press Editorial Board will consider book proposals on their academic merit. Read the call for book proposals.
