UCT has a zero tolerance approach to fraud and corruption. The UCT Fraud and Corruption Policy was approved by Council in 2017. All allegations of fraud and corruption will be investigated and acted on.

Use the whistle-blowing hotline to report:

  • illegal and unethical conduct
  • abuse of university assets
  • bribery and corruption
  • exam irregularities
  • theft and fraud.

In December 2017, Registrar Royston Pillay announced in a campus announcement the appointment of a new service provider, Whistle Blowers (Pty) Ltd, who would be responsible for the UCT hotline from 1 January 2018.

Whistle Blowers (Pty) Ltd was measured by the Ethics Institute and duly certified as meeting the requirements of an external whistle-blowing hotline service provider. This certification provides assurance that the company’s operations meet the highest standards.
