Mr Ezra Davids
Ezra Davids is the chairman of Corporate/M&A at Bowmans specialising in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and securities law. Ezra is also the relationship partner for several of the firm’s major clients such as PepsiCo, Bharti, Orange, Barrick Gold Corporation, Microsoft, UPS, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, ExxonMobil, Total and many others.
Professor Glenda Gray
Glenda Gray, MBBCH, FCPaeds (SA), DSc (honoris causa, Simon Fraser University 2013), DSc (honoris causa, Stellenbosch University 2018), Honorary Doctorate in Law (Rhodes University, 2019), an NRF A rated scientist, was the first female president and CEO of the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), and is currently the Chief Scientific Officer at the SAMRC.
Ms Kelly Phelps
Kelly Phelps, an alumna of the University of Cape Town, is currently an independent criminal justice consultant working with legal teams and research organisations. She is also the CEO of a civil society think tank. Between 2007 and 2023 she was a senior lecturer in public law at the University of Cape Town.
Mr Mark Oppenheimer
Mark Oppenheimer graduated from UCT in 2007 and has been a practicing advocate and member of the Johannesburg Bar for 15 years. He has appeared in the Supreme Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court in a series of cases that seek to determine the boundary between freedom of expression and genuine hate speech.
Mr Kessler Perumalsamy
Kessler Perumalsamy is an advocate of the High Court and a member of the Cape Bar and the Pan African Bar Association of South Africa. He is also an adjunct senior lecturer in the Department of Public Law at the University of the Western Cape.
Mr Pura Mgolombane
Mr Pura Mgolombane was appointed as the executive director of student affairs with effect from 1 February 2021. He is responsible for overseeing the provision of support and development services to the UCT student body.
With over 20 years of experience working with students, Mr Mgolombane is an ideal person to lead such an integral department.

Mr Vincent Mohau Motholo
The position of chief financial officer (CFO) is new to the University of Cape Town (UCT) and was previously titled the executive director for finance. The landscape of higher education has changed over the years, and now the Office of the Vice-Chancellor (VC) provides information on the financial position of the institution whilst negotiating government subsidies and balancing the complexities of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme as well as enrolments.
Ms Ujala Satgoor
Ms Ujala Satgoor was appointed the Executive Director: Libraries, effective from 1 January 2019.
Ms Satgoor brings with her years of experience in the higher education environment. She has previous experience as the director of library services at Rhodes University, and as the deputy director of library services at the University of Pretoria.
Ms Sarah Archer
Ms Sarah Archer has been appointed as the executive director of the Development and Alumni Department (DAD) at the University of Cape Town (UCT) as of 1 May 2022.
Mr Mughtar Parker
Mr Mughtar Parker took up the role of acting COO with effect from 1 August 2023 and will continue serving as Executive Director: Properties and Services, while taking on the additional responsibilities as acting COO, with the exception of Human Resources which will report to the Vice-Chancellor.
