UCT soars 23 places to land at 160th globally in the latest international university rankings published by Times Higher Education.

On Wednesday, 30 November, Vice-Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng hosted the UCT Annual Awards 2022, to honour exceptional individuals at UCT for their contributions through excellence and dedication in research, teaching and service.

UCT remains the top university on the continent according to ShanghaiRanking’s 2022 Academic Ranking of World Universities.

Three UCT researchers are among the world’s most cited, based on the Highly Cited Researchers 2022 list published by Clarivate.

UCT remains the best university in Africa and among the top 25 globally for studying infectious diseases, according to the US News and World Report.

UCT is 77th in the world for clinical and health and among the top 200 in four other subject areas, according to Times Higher Education.

The UCT GSB has been ranked 22nd in the world for its MBA programme on the Corporate Knights’ 2021 Better World MBA list of the top 40 global business schools.

The University of Cape Town ranks 16th worldwide (tied with Taipei Medical University, Taiwan) among universities in countries with emerging economies, according to the 2022 Times Higher Education (THE) Emerging Economies University Ranking

UCT in top 100 for graduate employability

The University of Cape Town (UCT) has been placed 109th in the 2022 US News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings.
