About our speaker:
Professor Irene Tracey is a neuroscientist and Vice-Chancellor (President) of the University of Oxford, a role she assumed in January 2023. Previously Warden of Merton College and Nuffield Chair in Anaesthetic Sciences, she is Professor of Anaesthetic Neuroscience in Oxford’s Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences. Her research has advanced understanding of acute and chronic pain and anaesthesia through pioneering neuroimaging work. Appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2022 and elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 2023, she has held senior international leadership roles and contributed widely to neuroscience, medical research, and higher education
The open lecture will be followed by a panel discussion with global leaders in higher education.
