Vula is an online collaboration and learning platform made up of various sites and has tools for administration, communication, resource sharing, collaborative learning and assessment.
Vula is a UCT-specific student portal. It supports all UCT courses, groups and communities. As a postgraduate student, you can access sites relevant to you by logging into Vula using your UCT account.
PeopleSoft is the self-service student administration platform where you can keep track of all admin related to your studies at UCT. You can check your application status and current enrolments, access your student results, get an unofficial academic transcript and check your fee account among other things. PeopleSoft is also used for all student administration, and increasingly for postgraduate funding award administration and postgraduate research administration.
Make sure your PeopleSoft account is updated with the correct contact information, bank account information and course registrations, as these are crucial for staff to contact you and for funding awards (including refunds) to be processed if necessary.
How to access PeopleSoft and log-in
You can access PeopleSoft by clicking here.
You will need to log-in with your user ID, which is your student number in upper case letters and your network password. Your password was sent in your application for admission letter from UCT’s Admissions Office.
Problems accessing PeopleSoft
If you are having trouble accessing PeopleSoft, and are not using an on-campus computer, go to the password self-service web page here. Then click on ‘forgot password’ and follow the prompts to reset your password with a one-time pin that will be sent to you.
If you are using a computer in the UCT computer labs and having trouble accessing PeopleSoft, log-in to the password self-service here. If you can log-in on this link, you should be able to log-in to PeopleSoft. If this doesn’t work, ask the computer lab administrator to assist.
