Information and Communication Technology Services (ICTS) is the main point of contact for all IT access and support at UCT. They help you with computer issues, IT, copy and print services, and setting up and accessing Wi-Fi.

Tech set-up

The ICTS website has guidelines on how to get connected to the UCT network, Internet and Wi-Fi. You can also find guides for setting up your email, UCT calendar, mailing lists, and how to set up for working remotely.

IT support desk on campus

The ICTS Front Office, provides a walk-in service to help staff and students. The Front Office can help you change your UCT password, install anti-virus software, set-up Wi-Fi on laptops and mobile devices or help with other basic requests and troubleshooting.

You will find the Front Office on Upper Campus in Room 2.01 of the Computer Science building (accessible from Cissie Gool Plaza, opposite the food court).

On Lower Campus, the walk-in centre is in Room 1.10 of ICTS-on-Main, 7 Main Road, Mowbray (see directions).

ICTS student tech programme

Students and staff at South African universities can buy personal laptops and tablets at reduced prices through the Student Technology Programme (STP). The programme runs in partnership with Van Schaik bookstores which also offers after sales support.

Print and copy services on campus

Printing and copying services are available at various libraries, labs and document centres on campus.
