Housing applications for on-campus living are made when you complete the general online admissions application. There is no separate application for housing.
Black African South African students who apply for an Honours degree will be given an automatic offer of housing with their letter of admission.
Housing for all other students who apply for on-campus living will be subject to availability.
It is important to note that on-campus housing options are limited, with only a handful of spaces available for postgraduates in each faculty.
Offer of housing
If on-campus housing is made available to you, you will receive an offer of housing from Student Housing Admissions & Advocacy Services. This offer will come to your PeopleSoft student account and the email address you have provided there.
The offer of housing may expire – it is important that you follow the instructions given in the letter to formally accept or reject your offer.
If you don’t receive an offer
If you don’t receive an offer of housing, you will be automatically placed on a waiting list. You will be notified of this by email to your PeopleSoft student account and the email address you have provided there.
If you are placed on the waiting list, it may be some time before you are allocated housing.
In most cases, it is suggested you contact Off Campus Student Accommodation (OCSAS) for assistance. OCSAS can help you find suitable off-campus housing for the duration of your studies.
