University of Cape Town Hosts Brazilian Consul General and Ambassador for insightful T2O Discussion
The University of Cape Town was pleased to host Fernando Apparicio da Silva, Consul General of Brazil in Cape Town and Ambassador Marcia Loureiro, President of the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG).
The focal point of the discussion was the G20 and the T20 (Think 20), which is known as an “ideas bank” for G20. The T20 organises the analysis of global think tanks and high-level experts with the mission to provide in-depth analysis to ongoing G20 discussions and produce ideas that assist the group in formulating and delivering concrete and sustainable policy measures. The T20’s role extends across critical areas including energy transition, global inequalities, sustainable development and digital transformation.
The University of Cape Town allowed for the exploration of these crucial topics with an emphasis on international collaboration that addresses global challenges. The engagement led to the exchange of ideas and perspectives aligned to the University’s 2030 vision and its core pillars 1) Excellence, 2) Transformation and 3) Sustainability that can be seen through its teaching and learning, research and projects.
