Brazilian Ambassadors visit UCT’s International Office

On Monday, 25 November 2024, the University of Cape Town (UCT) International Office had the privilege of hosting the Brazilian Consul-General, Ambassador Fernando Apparício and the President of the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG), Ambassador Raphael Azeredo. The esteemed visitors met with UCT International Office Director Quinton Johnson, PhD, to discuss avenues for strengthening academic and cultural collaboration between UCT and Brazilian institutions.

During the visit, the delegation explored potential partnerships that would foster student and staff exchanges, enhance research collaborations and promote intercultural dialogue. UCT’s Director of the International Office highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering global connections and the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing its internationalisation agenda. The engagement was fruitful, paving the way for future initiatives that align with UCT's vision.
