On Friday, 29 November 2024, the University of Cape Town's International Office engaged with the newly elected Student Representative Council (SRC), marking the beginning of a promising partnership. International Office Director Quinton Johnson, PhD, explained the pivotal role the International Office plays in supporting students and especially integrating international students into UCT's vibrant community. Johnson delivered an insightful presentation, showcasing the various programmes and initiatives tailored to enhance the international student experience. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the SRC and the International Office in addressing the needs of this dynamic student cohort.

He specifically said  “As a university that values inclusivity and diversity, we are excited to work closely with the SRC to ensure that every international student feels welcomed and empowered to thrive at UCT.”

The session was further enriched by the presence of International Office colleagues, who contributed to the discussions and shared their expertise. Together, the group explored avenues for collaboration to strengthen the university’s commitment to a holistic, inclusive and successful international student experience.
