The I2I (Idea to Impact) course, presented by Research Contracts and Innovation (RC&I), is an exciting opportunity designed specifically for post-graduate students or academic staff from UCT who seek to commercialise their research. The programme aims to equip its diverse cohort of learners from various faculties, genders, and races with the necessary skill set and experience to transition their research into marketable commodities by licensing or creating high-growth technology companies.
The I2I course does not offer academic credits but focuses on developing foundational skills in deep technology commercialisation. Participants will benefit from five in-depth half-day training sessions and gain exposure to the technology transfer industry, start-ups, and a network of industry professionals. Through the I2I course, learners will also have the unique opportunity to learn from industry experts sharing their experiences in research commercialisation. The program is cost-free, emphasising innovation and inclusivity.
