Mrs Kristin Jansen

Kristin Jansen holds a BA in History and Political Studies and an LLM in Commercial Law from the University of Cape Town, and an LLB from the University of South Africa. She has extensive experience in higher education, legal services, governance, operations, systems management, and institutional compliance.

Before joining the Research Contracts and Innovation team, Kristin served in the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment at UCT, providing executive and operational support and contributing to strategic initiatives including transformation through governance and committee administration. 

Kristin spent much of her career in UCT’s Office of the Registrar, specialising in student systems management, enterprise systems implementation, business process improvement, helpdesk operations, end-user support, and training, and played a key role in implementing UCT’s PeopleSoft Student Administration System. 

She has also gained legal experience at a large commercial law firm, working in conveyancing, wills and deceased estates, and developments.
