National Science Week (NSW) is an initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) held annually in all nine provinces of South Africa to celebrate science and technology. This year NSW ran from 8 to 13 August and the theme was “Science for Sustainable Development and Improved Quality of Life”.

NSW officially launched on 6 August at UWC with a speech by minister Naledi Pandor.

UCT had an interactive exhibition stand where learners had the opportunity to engage with UCT’s Aqualibrium Game [http://www.aqualibriumcompetition.net/joomla/] and learn about UCT innovations and undergraduate studies in Science.
