Publications Launched at First UCT Innovation Evening
The event certainly highlighted the benefits of these types of events to allow the Inventor community at UCT to network and get the chance to pick the brains of recent spin-out companies, such as Prof Kit Vaughan of CapeRay who attended the event. Hopefully RCIPS will be able to host a seminar day in 2011 where Inventors and Innovators can really showcase their achievements.
Click on the Laboratory Notebook button to find out more and to order copies - they are available to UCT students and staff at R20 each in packs of 10.
Dr Andrew Bailey, IP Manager, said that he hopes that the Inventor Mugs will become sought after and create a bit of a buzz in the tea room. All UCT Inventors who have successfully filed a provisional patent application will qualify for one.
Its a bit of fun that recognises the inventors early on in the process as one often waits years for the patent incentive fund award on the grant of an SA patent, or for commercial success.
