Stuart commented "Starting a student enterprise is extremely tough and stressful, I had (and still do) plenty of challenges, both personal and business related. The personal challenges in the beginning stages were mainly related to keeping myself motivated and having the confidence in myself and Studentology. When you work alone you do not receive any appraisal from outsiders. I only realised how important this is once it was no longer there, now I give myself the appraisal I need. Resilience and persistence coupled with an I CAN attitude, was what carried me through the tough initials months of teething problems.

For the first few months, finance was my biggest challenge.

Due to the fact that Studentology is an IT-based enterprise, most of the conventional financial institutes that offer business funding closed their doors on the idea. But I continued and stuck it through. What you focus on expands!! Never ever let finance deter you from your business goals. I eventually had to resort to more creative ways of soliciting finance, but the struggle continues. If you are doing it for the money, you are making a mistake!"

The purpose of Studentology is to create centralization in campus communication, be it internal or external. The focus is on ensuring that the students have a solid foundation for interactive communication all campus-related news, events or services and to avoid the campus corridor clutter that plagues the notice boards. At the same time, Studentology aims at being the first port of call for any company interested in servicing the student market. This is done by analyzing the needs of the company and creating the optimal online and offline marketing strategy to maximize their benefits. External companies can have a real-time, interactive medium of communicating with the national student body. This allows companies to create brand awareness and develop a measureable relationship with the student market.
