Dr Ropafadzo Nhaita
Dr Ropafadzo Malvin Nhaitayi is a social development researcher and academic based in Cape Town, South Africa, with expertise in innovative financing mechanisms for social impact and public sector development. He holds advanced degrees in social work and social policy, including a BSW, BSocSci (Hons), and MSocSci in Social Policy and Management from the University of Cape Town (UCT), and he pursued doctoral research at UCT’s Department of Social Development.
Dr Nhaitayi’s research focuses on Social Impact Bonds (SIBs) — an innovative financing model that links private investment to measurable social outcomes. His doctoral thesis examined the design, implementation, and effectiveness of SIBs in South Africa, drawing on case studies to identify opportunities and challenges in using outcome-based financing to address complex social issues.
