A stellar performance indeed!

It was a huge privilege to be able to watch two South African legends perform an incredible and classic theater piece, which was originally written and performed just under four decades ago.

The two actors, Mbongeni Ngema and Percy Mtwa, together with Barney Simon (another South African theater legend), wrote this highly political play during the tragic era of Apartheid in South Africa. The play touches on issues such as race relations, inequality and the overall Apartheid laws’ contribution to the lived experiences of black individuals in South Africa.

The satirical genre of the play makes the piece incredibly powerful by bringing the audience to light of serious, soci-political issues through humour. The classic theater piece has respectively been performed several times over, by multiple actors since its original performance in the 80’s. However; nothing compares to the brilliance and passion portrayed by the illustrious original cast.
