Ultra Cape Town is one of the largest music festivals in South Africa. It was an incredible experience; the weather was perfect, and the music was really enjoyable.

One thing I really liked about the event was the general atmosphere, everyone was in a good mood and just having a care free amazing time. Work aside, I still got to experience the music and spend some good time with my squad.

For me the best part of Ultra was being able to access the very front of the stage and it’s probably to closest I’ve ever been to international stars, needless to say I felt very special.

The headline acts were exceptional and exceeded my expectations. It was really impressive that the international artists had added a slightly local flare to their sets.

As with any large event, there are some downfalls; while the ostrich farm is a nice venue for the event, it’s too far out and getting transport home took close to an hour and a half. The drinks were hellishly expensive, and I felt Black Coffee should have been featured on the main stage as he is an international act.

Aside from those issues, the event was thoroughly enjoyable, and I plan to attend next year. I can say, with certainty, it’s well worth the money to attend, no matter your music preference.
