Welcome freshers to UCT! We are kicking the year off with a bang. Fresher's Braai 2019 is the place to relax, enjoy good music and get to know your fellow first years. What is Fresher's Braai?

Fresher's Braai is a chance for you to get to know the other first year students at UCT. It is a free event exclusively for freshers. With your ticket you will get food and a drink. There is live acts on stage throughout the evening and great prizes and giveaways to be won.

When and where is the braai?

Freshers Braai takes place on the Greenmile Rugby Fields at the bottom of Jammie steps. Look for the big coke truck and follow the vibe. It starts at 17:00.

What is the lineup?

OG.Dwill kick the evening off with nothing but a great vibe, extending himself throughout most genres and incorporating everyone. He's inspired by his crowd, controlling their energies throughout the set.

Following him will be 18-year-old Nyota, headlining Fresher's Braai, who is an upcoming rapper, vocalist, songwriter, music composer, and Hip-hop and Jazz artist who will bring her best with all the sass an passion

Hot on her heels, ROOIBOSNOLOVE with an eclectic brew of local and international sounds, both nostalgic and new, that are guaranteed to keep you moving on the dance floor.

Rounding out the evening will be TrendY DeejaY is a disk jockey, producer, events manager and radio DJ, who is also co-founder and member of Bigg Fun Music. Trendy DeejaY has a vast music influence but boasts it through House music. Being groomed by predominantly deep house music, he now offers a mesh of clean mixing skills with a great selection of Gqom Music.

YES! Included in your ticket is dinner and soft drinks.

Where to get tickets?

Get your tickets from your Orientation Leaders during orientation.

What to bring?

Bring yourselves, your ticket, a good vibe and be ready to have some fun. Remember that UCT is a dry campus, so no alcohol is allowed in the venue.
