Timeless Escape: Team Building

One of the most exciting new ways to spend time with a group of people these days is to lock them all in a room and force them to solve a series of riddles and clues to be released back into the wild. The experience is called an escape room and we tried it out.

We sent our fresh team of managers to Timeless Escape on a Friday afternoon to see what it was like and they had a ball. Timeless Escape is the newest kid on the escape room block in Cape Town, having only opened its doors this year and we were extremely impressed. As you arrive, you walk directly into their prohibition lounge, where you can enjoy some of the most delicious cocktails (the Pink Lady was our favourite), and you can even bring your own alcohol to be whipped up into something amazing by the friendly mixologists behind the bar! They also have some games available to keep you entertained while you wait.

Before being locked away we were briefed on the rooms we’d be escaping from, being told the themes and records for quickest escape (Spoiler alert: we didn’t break the records). We’ll keep the themes of the rooms to ourselves to preserve the magic for anyone wanting to try it out, though. As the excitement began to build, we were divided and sent into our respective escape rooms with only one clue in hand and spent the next hour or so frantically leaving no stone unturned to solve the mystery before the timer ran out.

Both teams managed to escape their rooms in the nick of time and there was definitely a bit of competition banter going around about who managed to escape faster. All in all, the experience was immensely enjoyed by our team of managers and our human resources department was thrilled with our team work.
