Overall score: 7/10
Revelation earns points for looking stylish and loses points for being pricey. The coffee is well suited to people who are partial to the bitter strong kind and service is efficient and fast.
2. Coffee to Go—Food Court
Price: Americano R9
Overall score: 6/10
Coffee to Go is excellent for service, you can get a coffee in under 60 seconds and sometimes they taste pretty decent. Not being able to pour your own milk or add your own sugar makes the experience a sort of lucky draw, but coffee in less than a minute means we’re not complaining.
1. Frigo—Molly Blackburn
Price: Americano R8.90
Overall score: 8/10
Frigo is my overall favourite because they use real beans and you can get awesome pastries fresh from the oven if you get there early enough. Some people complain that Frigo’s coffee is too strong but they probably don’t know the struggle of an Ecos essay deadline.
