Undere Deglon
She holds a Master’s degree in Research Psychology (2006) and a Bachelor of Social Sciences (2004) from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She obtained a certificate in Human Resource Management from Unisa in 2000. In 1992, Undere was awarded a Higher Diploma in Education building upon her Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Western Cape (1991). Her mother tongue is Afrikaans, and she is fluent in English. She serves as a member of Presidential Working Group, and of Ministerial Committee on Disability for National Department of Social Development. She has served on the Council of Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2014. She has served on Decent Work Programme Steering Committee for International Labour Organisation, and on technical steering committee of Women’s Entrepreneurship Development and Gender Equality (WEDGE) Programme.Undere has worked with international organisations including World Bank, Danida, and International Labour Organisation (ILO), Fundosa Group (Spain), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and South African Government departments since 2007. She has served on the Services SETA: Labour and Collective Services (2020).
She has a proven ability to awaken curiosity and encourage exploration within teams. She is passionate about development and economic inclusion of people with disabilities and possesses an extensive portfolio of successfully implemented projects.
