Lizette Hendricks
Lizette is a qualified counsellor, currently not practicing. She graduated with a BA (Health Sciences and Social Services) specializing in Community and Health Psychology from the University of South Africa (Unisa) in 2022. In 2018, she also completed her Higher Certificate in Counselling and Communication through the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP).
Lizette gained counselling experience through a mentorship programme she was involved in, which entailed voluntary membership in which she volunteered to mentor young, orphaned girls during their transition from orphanages to adulthood on the Cape Flats. This experience, along with her participation in the South African Youth Education Sustainability (SAYES) programme, sparked her interest in counselling and mediation.
Lizette is passionate about community and individual development, as well as upliftment programmes that will essentially contribute to fostering strengths in communities and promoting positive workplace relationships.
Mediation experience and style:
Her mediation approach encompasses both in-person sessions and online platforms, aiming to facilitate the involvement of parties from any location, thereby minimizing travel expenses and avoiding unnecessary delays.
Areas of interest:
Lizette is interested in mediating cases involving racial harassment and workplace challenges. She is also eager to improve and broaden her mediation skills and services in other areas, such as gender-based violence, inclusion, and sexual discrimination. She believes that by doing so, she can contribute to the greater good of communities and society as a whole.
