Jodee Arendse
Jodee joined the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2015 after graduating with a Bachelor of Social Science, majoring in Psychology and Gender Studies. They started their career at the Examinations Office as an Examinations Assistant, where they assisted with examination administration and graduation logistics. In 2022, Jodee moved to the Doctoral Degrees Board Office, where they administer the PhD examination process and provide services to the Doctoral Degrees Board. Jodee's interests lie in gendered identity, mental health awareness, and gender-based violence. They have also been a guest speaker, sharing their experiences with healing through trauma. With their unique perspective as both a student and a staff member at the university, Jodee believes they are uniquely positioned to effectively assist staff and students with their mediation requirements.
