Carmelita Lee Shong
Carmelita is a clinical social worker with over 15 years of clinical and counselling experience. Throughout her career, she has worked on forensic cases, child and family work, and gender-based violence. In addition to her work in Human Resource Development, she is also a qualified disciplinary chairperson, giving her a solid understanding of labour law.
Her guiding principles have always been social justice and the promotion of peace in all spheres of society. As a result, she finds it crucial to utilize mediation techniques, especially those aligned with the values of restorative justice, to achieve these goals. Years of experience in conflict resolution has taught her to maintain objectivity, take time to apply her mind, and prioritize the use of legislation and best practices in resolving matters. Furthermore, she recognizes the importance of consulting with other advisors in this role.
