Alan has over 20 years of experience in information technology, project management, and management and leadership roles. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions at UCT, gaining extensive knowledge and experience in various areas such as operations, stakeholder management, systems and process mapping, report writing, information management, and resource management.

Alan pursued continuous professional development and completed a master's degree. This academic pursuit has equipped him with the advanced knowledge and skills necessary to excel in a leadership role. He possesses a solid foundation in leadership principles, strategic planning, and organizational dynamics.

Alan's strengths lie in his ability to effectively plan and organise operations and workflows, streamline processes, and optimise resource management. He is adept at identifying areas for improvement, implementing innovative solutions, and driving positive change within the university. Moreover, he possesses strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling him to foster productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Alan uses both in-person and virtual platforms for mediation so that parties can participate from any location worldwide, cutting down on needless travel expenses and delays.

Alan is interested in resolving disputes, including harassment, aggression, and work difficulties in all these areas.
