Edwina Brooks
Edwina Brooks serves as the Director of Student Development in the Department of Student Affairs at the University of Cape Town (UCT). With a career spanning twenty-six years in Student Affairs and Higher Education, she has spent twenty-four years in management and leadership roles. Edwina demonstrates her commitment to inclusivity by chairing several institutional committees with an approach of affirming members' contributions and ensuring inclusivity. She has facilitated and co-facilitated numerous task teams, dialogues, change interventions, and training sessions with students and staff. Additionally, she has actively participated in several national and international conferences. In her current position, Edwina provides leadership in student life, student orientation, student governance and leadership development, sports and recreation, and the UCT Food Sovereignty programme.
Her formal education includes a B.Soc.Sci (Social Work) and M.SocSci (Social Development) from UCT. She is registered for a DBA at the University of Bath, United Kingdom (UK). Her thesis titled "Mapping Student Politics in Higher Education in South Africa," showcases her academic pursuits.
