Arlene Bowers
Arlene is a Departmental Manager in the Centre for Extra Mural Studies at the Development and Alumni Department. She has served on various committees across the University of Cape Town (UCT), particularly in transformation, employment equity, and selection committees. After graduating from the Graduate School of Business (GSB) with a Diploma in management, her interest in those fields became evident. With over 20 years at UCT and experience in managing diverse groups of staff members, she has been able to effectively deal with conflict matters using the skills that she learned.
Areas of interest:
Her areas of interest are gender-based violence, sexual harassment, harassment/discrimination based on gender and race, workplace conflict, and staff well-being.
