Dr Bridget Johnson
Dr Bridget Johnson is the Psychologist for Disability Service and she facilitates the provision of reasonable academic accommodations and concessions for students with Mental Health Disabilities and Specific Learning Disabilities. Once students have registered with Disability Service, they will receive an appointment with Dr Johnson to discuss their unique needs and a support plan will be developed for them in collaboration with other Disability Service staff. She works collaboratively with Student Wellness Services and various faculties and committees to ensure that students receive the support they need.
Dr Johnson obtained her undergraduate qualifications at the University of Cape Town and her MPsych and PhD at the University of the Western Cape. She is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. She has worked previously in higher education at the University of the Western Cape, Stellenbosch University and Nelson Mandela University. In her spare time, Bridget enjoys hiking, reading and completing crossword puzzles.
