Edwina Ghall
Edwina Ghall is the Disability Service Manager at the University of Cape Town (UCT), where she leads the institution’s efforts to promote disability inclusion and accessibility for students, staff and visitors. She has been part of UCT’s Disability Service since 2008, initially serving as Barrier-Free Access Coordinator before being appointed Manager in 2018.
She currently heads the Access4All Capacity Building Project in Higher Education, a national pilot initiative aimed at strengthening Disability Rights Units across South African universities, thereby enhancing support for persons with disabilities within the sector.
Edwina holds a Master’s degree in Child and Family Studies from the University of the Western Cape, as well as a degree in Theology (Transworld Accrediting Commission, 2024). She is a registered social worker with experience in community health and trauma counselling, she combines professional expertise with a strong commitment to social justice. Alongside her professional responsibilities, she also volunteers her time to provide counselling and support to disadvantaged communities.
