The Case Writing Centre creates the Doing Business in Africa (DBIA) case series. DBIA is our ‘deconstructed’ cases – open-source, multimedia, African case material. Like our traditional cases, the DBIA case is about a current and relevant African business of interest, however, we ‘deconstruct’ the case content to some extent. We have taken out key case elements to showcase. Over the course of a month, the Case Writing Centre will release weekly instalments of a DBIA case on our LinkedIn page. It is ‘deconstructed’ in the sense that the parts are showcased individually. Together these puzzle pieces of material form a full DBIA case. These cases are then accessible and can be used openly. You can look forward to:

·       Meet the company: an introductory case blog

·       The dilemma: a podcast interview with the protagonist

·       Exhibit A: an infographic which sets up the case context

·       Reading list: a list of literature about the subject matter

·       Insights: viewpoints from two experts on the dilemma at hand

The monthly featured DBIA case will be released on our LinkedIn page and then kept  on our website. DBIA co-exists alongside the traditional teaching cases that we CWC produce.

"The Case Writing Centre is passionate about creating relevant, local case material. We want to showcase more of the ground-breaking business stories from Africa. We have invested time into thinking about and developing our DBIA case series. We have also played with the case format to bring it up to speed with the digital space, while also hoping to make the material more accessible. This is simply the natural progression of what we do, and we’re excited about it.”
