Mr Vuyo Mliswa

Vuyo Mliswa is a seasoned Research Manager with extensive experience in higher education, research governance, and stakeholder engagement across Africa. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering Sciences from North-West University, an Honours degree in Polymer Science from Stellenbosch University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Fort Hare. His academic background is complemented by professional certifications in project management, including PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner, as well as additional Project Management training through the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Business School.


In his current role as Academic Affairs Manager for Africa at Springer Nature, Vuyo leads strategic engagement with academic institutions, research funders, and policy stakeholders. He is responsible for monitoring and interpreting research policy developments, supporting academic capacity-building initiatives, and promoting responsible research practices across the continent. His work is instrumental in fostering collaboration between African research communities and global knowledge networks.
