Dr Martin Bekker
Dr Martin Bekker is an AI ethics researcher and computational social scientist at the School of Electronic and Information Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand. He is a fellow of the Wits MIND institute. Bekker holds degrees in Values Studies and Philosophy from Stellenbosch, Peace Studies from Bradford, Development from the LSE, and a PhD from the University of Johannesburg.
Previously, he was head of the Royal Bafokeng Administration demographic and household survey research team and served on the World Economic Forum’s advisory panel for sustainable mining and minerals.
