Dr Francis Akpa-Inyang

Research Integrity Officer; Durban University of Technology

Dr. Francis Akpa-Inyang is an academic and research integrity expert with extensive experience in public health, bio- and research ethics and integrity. He holds degrees in Biology, Philosophy, Applied Ethics, Population Studies, and a PhD in Public Health. As a Research Integrity Officer at Durban University of Technology (DUT), he plays a pivotal role in advancing responsible research conduct and ethics governance.

A certified VIRT2UE research integrity trainer, Dr. Akpa-Inyang has led numerous workshops and contributed to policy development in research integrity and ethics. His research focuses on research integrity, global health, African traditional medicine, and ethical frameworks. He is an active member of the South African Council of Educators and the African Research Integrity Network, furthering his commitment to research integrity, ethical scholarship and education.
