New year, fresh new look
Planners know that things can change quickly. The last couple of years showed us – more than ever – how the ability to remain flexible guarantees seamless events. Virtual and hybrid events were new to us, but they created an opportunity to learn new skills, offer our clients new formats and adapt CMC's offerings to the changing rules and regulations for gatherings because of COVID-19. Fortunately, we've come to anticipate change in this era of conferencing; and so, we adapted, kept our eyes on the ball, and got on with it. In the last year alone, we successfully hosted 81 events – either online, in-person, or both – all in line with applicable protocols.
The CMC team started 2022 in full swing with an armful of events in the pipeline. Be sure to check our Upcoming events page for forthcoming gatherings that CMC is involved in.
The 2022 line-up includes two much-anticipated conferences with international attendance: the 4th Biennial Conference of the African Studies Association of Africa – ASAA2022 in April, where we look forward to welcoming participants either online or at our selected venues on the University of Cape Town (UCT) campus, including the state-of-the-art UCT GSB Academic Conference Centre and the iconic Baxter Theatre. The BIO2022 (Bioscience, Big Data & the 4th Industrial Revolution) takes place in April in the heart of the Cape Winelands, just outside Cape Town.
As you browse our website or engage with us on social media, you will also see our new logo and branding, launched in late 2021. We are absolutely thrilled with this fresh, modern take and look forward to incorporating it across all our platforms. The new brand identity signifies the sparking of ideas at our tailor-made events. Much time and effort was put into it and we hope you agree that it's an invigorated step up.
We look forward to a prosperous year and building new beginnings. For your conferencing, events and social function needs in 2022 and beyond, contact your CMC team, your professional conference organiser at the University of Cape Town.
