For me, the variety of conference management keeps my work interesting all the time. I enjoy the buzz and the wide range of tasks – my job is rarely the same two days in a row. I get to meet new people frequently, and I do a lot of detail-orientated work. The best part of my job is once we’ve completed a conference and everyone is happy; it makes all the ups and downs leading up to the event so worthwhile in the end.

I have been involved in conferencing and events for over twenty years, with a marketing and sales background. Coming from a corporate environment, I also had the opportunity to work abroad; this has given me an in-depth understanding of the eventing space and my clients’ needs.

I enjoy my work here at the CMC because every day is a new challenge, in a good way. There are always new aspects to the job, which I find very interesting. I enjoy managing the short courses because I can focus on the product and keep building it. The most rewarding part of the job is seeing the client happy with our service and satisfied with the result.

I have found that each conference comes with its particular challenges. One of my strengths is that I remain calm in the face of these challenges. I like being on-site and seeing everything we have worked for coming together. I also enjoy meeting interesting people during the events.

I have been tending to conference and events registrations for a few years, and yes, this can get super busy. I enjoy communicating with delegates in the lead-up phase and then getting to meet them face-to-face at the actual event. The best part of my job is once the event is done when you look back and see that everything ran smoothly.
